About Giants
Giant Schnauzers originated in Germany and are a part of the working group. They are the largest of the Schnauzer breed with a typical life span of 12-15 years. Giants are extremely intelligent, energetic, and naturally protective, but they're also very lovable, loyal, and can be great with children.
Because they are quick learners, early and consistent training is important. Without guidance their strength and confidence can make them more dominant. Socialization is an important part of training your Giant. They love to learn and aim to please. They thrive when given a purpose and truly shine when they have a job to do, whether it's on a farm work, fetch, agility, dock diving, going for runs, therapy work, showing, barn hunt, or any activity that challenges them. As a working breed, a well-trained Giant is incredibly rewarding to own.
Their signature eyebrows and trademark beards turn lots of heads. They have a coat that requires regular grooming to maintain and avoid matting.
Giant Schnauzers love to love and to be loved; they can make a great addition for active families willing to invest time in training, exercise and love!
